We have a free on-site parking lot for your convenience. Rising up from below the stage before the movie, the El Capitan's magnificent Wurlitzer organ was originally installed at San Francisco's Fox Theatre in 1929. The music of the "Mightiest of Mighty Wurlitzers" has delighted hundreds of thousands of moviegoers of all ages. Besides its Chinese pagoda design, the theatre’s most distinct feature is the famous Forecourt of the Stars, with nearly 200 celebrity handprints, footprints, and autographs immortalized in the concrete. Visitors can literally touch Hollywood history, from Marilyn Monroe to Tom Hanks, Betty Grable’s legs, Jimmy Durante’s nose, and the magic wands of Harry Potter’s heroic trio.

In October 2023, American Cinematheque and Netflix announced that the Egyptian will be reopening on November 9 following a three-year renovation that has restored the movie palace to its original 1922 grandeur. The first screening will be The Killer, followed by a Q&A with the director David Fincher. In 1922, a few weeks before King Tutankhamen’s tomb was discovered, the Egyptian Theatre was opened by Charles E. Toberman and Sid Grauman, who would later go on to open Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. It was a prescient design choice - the world soon went mad for all things Egyptian and several other Egyptian-themed theatres soon opened across the country. Flower Mound the town feels like a mini-Plano, or a friendlier Southlake, or a Suburban Southlake Plano Lite.

Their menu is an extensive one — offering plenty of American and British eats. Of course, they have a wide selection of beers ready to enjoy, just like your favorite Dunder Mifflin characters. This place isn’t much of a secret, but their donuts are a Los Angeles staple. Randy’s Donuts is no stranger to the big screen and has been featured in many films over the years. More specifically though, this is the spot where Tony Stark and Nick Furry discuss the Avengers.

This was a truly luxury experience, and if it were closer to me, it would be my movie house of choice, hands down. It’s far and away an experience like no other I’ve had before both in quality of food, and comfort during the movie. It’s worth the visit for an indulgent date night, girls’ night out, or even to take advantage of some of their Deal Days more often. Enjoy the latest blockbuster movies in unrivalled surroundings with exquisite hand-crafted cocktails, restaurant quality cuisine, luxury seating, in theater waiter service & more. There aren’t many movie theatres that offer ticketed tours.
Working from at an entertainment studio lot is a pretty typical LA experience. These buildings are impossible to miss around the city, with Fox’s menacing soundstage in Century City, Sony’s sprawling Culver City lot, and the old school Paramount Studios on Melrose Avenue. These massive production facilities span throughout Southern California, where thousands of employees create TV shows and movies for the world.
It’s far less crowded than dinnertime, and the barbecue Jidori chicken and dungeness crab dumplings are a refreshing and slightly pricier break from the standard salad or sandwich. Wexler’s Deli and Crack Shack have locations within Westfield with options that can satisfy, as will the soup dumplings or sweet and sour baby back ribs from Din Tai Fung. Paramount’s iconic main entrance is an eye-catcher. It’s central location allows for plenty of dining choices, but opt for the bucatini carbonara or sliced hangar steak at Osteria la Buca. Kali’s modern California menu can hit any craving with a fried chicken sandwich or sea urchin pasta. Casual, fast, and operating for nearly two decades, Mario’s arroz chaufa/fried rice, lomo saltado, and ceviche are some of the best in the city.
Some are historic, some feature state-of-the-art technology - or even a mix of both. Others offer such cutting edge fare, you’d be hard-pressed to find these films anywhere else. So the next time you go to the movies, why not make it one of these L.A. Just be warned, once you visit one, it may be hard to go back to your neighborhood multiplex. My favorite part of this experience was truly the seating.

After succeeding in battle against Loki’s army and saving the world, this is the place that the Avengers go to, per Iron Mans’s request. Shalom Grill, previously Elat Burgers — serves burgers, kabobs, and of course shawarma good enough for Tony Stark. The Great Wall is an authentic Chinese restaurant that can be found in the heart of the Valley. It’s also where Ryan Gosling as the driver sets up a confrontation with Bernie Rose. However, their Shio-Baos (BBQ Pork Buns) are absolutely to die for, and you won’t be able to eat just one. The Redwood Bar & Grill is home to the beloved scene where Summer and Tom sing karaoke in 500 Days of Summer.

L.A. Bars And Restaurants In Movies And TV Shows That You Can Actually Dine At

Following a three-year renovation, the historic Vista Theatre in Los Feliz is officially reopening on Friday, November 17 with Eli Roth's new holiday horror movie, Thanksgiving. Ridley Scott's Napoleon will screen in 70mm beginning November 22. Owner Quentin Tarantino, who purchased the Vista in 2021, is celebrating the theatre's centennial by hosting a sold-out 35mm screening of True Romance on November 11. Alamo's Movie Parties are Rocky Horror-style interactive experiences that include fun props, themed drinks and more. At a recent Shaun of the Dead Movie Party, guests received inflatable cricket bats so they could smack their neighbors every time Shaun (Simon Pegg) smacks a zombie on-screen, and a keepsake Shaun-esque name tag.
(Don’t check me on this; I’m nav challenged.) This theater is brand new, just opened in July.
We used the flashlight function on our smartphones to get to the restrooms, to read menus or to even seek out the silverware right in front of us. This dark is great for experiencing the movie, but help small kids and elderly family out of their seats if they need to get up. The paths have small running lights and the exit is lit.
Thanks to easy access to the 101, Hollywood, and the Valley, Universal has an abundance of restaurants within a short distance. Traditional Indian favorite Lal Mirch serves incredible masalas, tandoori, and korma. Sun Cafe Organic’s vegan menu fits the bill when leaning healthy. Feu Pho Kitchen’s non-traditional menu includes Vietnamese tacos and oxtail pho. Daichan can satisfy a sushi craving, and dishes that span curry udon and Japanese fried chicken. Opened as a playhouse in 1926, this gorgeous, fully restored movie palace has been Disney’s cinematic home on Hollywood Boulevard since 1991, when The Rocketeer premiered at the El Capitan Theatre.
